Elizabeth D. “Bette” Parkhurst, 76 of Winter Garden, FL passed away on June 18, 2017. She was born in Havana, FL on January 16, 1941. Bette loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. She loved to ride motorcycles, and was known to the bikers as T. L. Bette was very active in the Winter Garden community serving on the Orange County Civil Defense Team from 1970 – 1979, a volunteer for the Ocoee Police Department listening to the citizens band radio and President of several CB radio clubs. Elizabeth D. “Bette” Parkhurst, 76 of Winter Garden, FL passed away on June 18, 2017. She was born in Havana, FL on January 16, 1941. Bette loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. She loved to ride motorcycles, and was known to the bikers as T. L. Bette was very active in the Winter Garden community serving on the Orange County Civil Defense Team from 1970 – 1979, a volunteer for the Ocoee Police Department listening to the citizens band radio and President of several CB radio clubs. She was also a member of the Winter Garden Elks Lodge 2165 and was the President of the Ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion Post 63. She also was a guide dog user and never let her blindness slow her down. Bette is survived by her husband, Thomas; her daughters: Cherri French and Sandra French; her brother, Samuel Doss; her sister Mary Doss; her four grandchildren and her four great grandchildren.



A Celebration of Bette’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10 AM at the Winter Garden Elks Lodge 2165, 700 9th Street, Winter Garden, FL.
